Rainier Reduced Membership Fee Program

Overview of Player Scholarship Program

Rainier Reduced Fee Payment Plan Guide

Volunteer Pledge Form (for Reduced Fee)

Rainier Reduced Membership Program Overview
It is the intent of Rainier Junior Rugby to give as many children as possible the opportunity to
participate in our program. We are a non‐profit organization staffed by volunteer coaches and
administrators with no outside financial assistance and rely on in house fundraising and
membership fees to defray our operating expenses.

Therefore a limited number of opportunities for reduced or waived membership fee are
available, and are granted on a first come, first served basis to eligible players. In order to
spread the assistance as far as possible, we ask each family seeking to pay as much as they can
afford. The levels of fee reductions we offer include 100%, 60% & 40%. Applicants can review
the normal player membership fees and also the amount which would be paid if offered a 40 or
60% on the Reduced Fee Payment Guide .

Players who are awarded a fee reduction and their parents are expected to demonstrate a
higher level of commitment and participation in regards to practice, game day and fund raising
events. After any fee reduction has been awarded a Volunteer pledge form must be completed
by the parent awarded the fee reduction designating how between the player and themselves
they plan to combine to contribute the required pre designated number of volunteer hours in
in proportion to the amount of the scholarship award.

We will consider many factors when evaluating eligibility for receiving a fee reduction. A parent
or guardian should create and submit a written statement stating any relevant information
which you feel are any mitigating factors in supporting your request. Please indicate what level
of fee reduction (%) you are seeking and include your name, player or players you are writing
on behalf of and a good contact phone number and email we can contact you on.
If relevant some challenging circumstances and not all the committee will consider and if
applicable should be included in your letter are a recent family death, illness, loss of
employment compensation or other changes in financial position such as a wage reduction or
change of job, One family income in a single parent home, approved government assistance
support to family.

Process
Complete a written request for a membership fee reduction as described above and return to
team coach or manager for delivery to the club scholarship review board. The coach or coaches
of the player’s team may also be consulted by the committee during the review process.
Once the review process is complete and if a fee reduction has been approved arrangements
will be made to establish an Incremental Payment Agreement that is mutually acceptable. All
details pertaining to any fee reduction will be held in confidence between the parent/guardian
and the scholarship review committee for Rainier Rugby Club.

A Volunteer pledge form must be completed by the parent who has been awarded the fee
reduction designating how they and their son or daughter plan to contribute the required pre
designated number of volunteer hours in in proportion to the amount of the scholarship award.
A list of players who have been provided a fee reduction ($ amounts or terms kept confidential)
and their families pledge form will be provided to each team manager so when assistance is
required they can solicit these persons first for assistance.
